Thompson National Properties Launches TNP Strategic Retail Trust

IRVINE, Calif., (August 7, 2009) – Thompson National Properties, LLC, announced today that the Registration Statement relating to the initial public offering of TNP Strategic Retail Trust, Inc. has been declared effective by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.  TNP Strategic Retail Trust is offering up to $1 billion of its common stock in the offering and intends to qualify as a real estate investment trust (REIT) for federal income tax purposes.
The Company intends to use the net proceeds from this offering to invest in and manage a portfolio of income-producing retail properties, primarily located in the Western United States, including neighborhood multi-tenant grocery anchored shopping centers and free standing single-tenant retail properties, and real estate-related assets, including the investment in or origination of mortgage, mezzanine, bridge and other loans related to commercial real estate.
